Potholes and broken pavements#PREMIXASPHALT #ROADCONTRACTOR

What is a Pothole? When the surface of a road ages, it becomes more porous, which allows rainwater to soak in more easily through cracks and other flaws. In wet conditions, the pressure produced by car tyres passing over the area forces more water down into the road surface, which weakens it even further. When the weather is cold and wet, water that has entered into the ground freezes and expands, loosening chunks of the surface material of and causing faster deterioration of the road. Once a pothole has formed, it will get bigger the more traffic passes over it, as cars driving over the potholes will continue to weaken and dislodge broken pieces of the road surface. When the surface of a road has weakened over a larger area, potholes are more likely to reoccur. In most of these cases, the entire road surface will need to be repaired or completely replaced under our Highway road surfacing programme.

The Most Common Road  asphalt Resurfacing Methods in malaysia. Road resurfacing not only makes the roads safer to drive; it also indirectly contributes to safety by making road markings last longer and be easier to read. Resurfacing is a road maintenance technique in which a new layer of asphalt is laid over the existing road surface rather than having to replace both the top and underlying base completely. Resurfacing is appropriate to use when the subgrade of the road remains in good condition even if the upper layer is heavily damaged. While there are a variety of methods that can be used to resurface roads, these three are among the most commonly used methods:
Overlay This method of road resurfacing involves a fresh layer of asphalt being applied in order to restore its structural integrity as well as extending its life cycle. It is also the method that takes the shortest time to complete. When done well, overlay resurfacing can last from fifteen to eighteen years depending on fact…

What’s the Difference Between Hot, Warm, and Cold Mix Asphalt?
Many people don’t realize that there are different types of asphalt that are used for various commercial and residential projects. All asphalt is a mix of coarse aggregate stone, sand, fine aggregate stone, and petroleum-based asphalt cement. Depending on the mixing process and the temperatures that are used, the asphalt will be considered hot mix asphalt, warm mix asphalt, or cold mix asphalt. HOT MIX ASPHALT Hot mix asphalt is heated and poured at temperatures ranging from 300 to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Chances are, this is the asphalt that has been used on projects around your home in the past and on the streets, highways, and interstates around it. It is a flexible mix that is highly weather resistant and able to repel water (which is why it’s such a popular choice!). Hot mix asphalt is used on days that are above 40 degrees only, because it cools down very quickly. WARM MIX ASPHALT Warm mix asphalt is use…
